This is the last of our 3 articles with some suggestions for Christmas presents for your children - or of course for friends and relatives! We have put together some ideas based around products that we LOVE and think that you will too! These ideas are based around children aged about 4 - 6 years (give-or-take).
Are you like me and leave your Christmas shopping until the last moment? Every year I promise myself that ‘this year it is going to be different’. Well, each year it isn’t and I spend hours surfing the internet looking for inspiration. Hopefully, this article will inspire you and make life a little easier!
Warn and Reward System from QuackQuackMoo!
How’s this for something a little bit different for a Christmas present? I suppose it might be a little ‘tongue-in-cheek’ but if it works then who cares? The thing I LOVE about this product (as a Mum and a teacher) is the fact that there is an emphasis on the rewards which is great. It’s simple to use and portable, meaning you can take it to Grandparent’s house for that all important continuity. We recommend this gift for a child who sometimes needs that little bit of praise for all the great things they do!

Round and Round Game from Orchard Toys!
Orchard Toys are well-known amongst parents as being a great provider of games suitable for young children but with an educational ‘feel’ to them. I have not yet taught in a school where there is not at least one Orchard Toys game and my children LOVE them. We have this game, based on ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, and my 6-year-old and 4-year-old soon grasped the rules - it is now a firm favourite. We recommend this present as a great gift for families with young children - time to switch the TV off, sit down together and play a game!

Plate Artwork Pottery from the Keepsake Company!
This arrived beautifully packaged in tissue paper the day after ordering it. This evening’s job is to turn it into a plate for Father Christmas’ mince-pie and Rudolph’s carrot. I have a feeling it will make an appearance every year!! Of course, the picture doesn’t have to be festive (see my image!). It’s easy to use, just pop it in the oven after painting. This would make an ideal Christmas gift for anyone who is artistic or anyone who has a sentimental Mum (like me)! Alternatively, what about getting it for your children to create a present for Granny?

Sheldon Organic Shirt from Bamboo-Baby!
It’s no secret that here at PT we are big fans of Bamboo Baby. Their Sheldon shirt is made of 100% organic cotton and is super soft. It is available in sizes 1-2y, 2-3y, 3-4y, 4-5y, 5-6y meaning it is perfect if you want young siblings to match! The distinctive green floral pattern oozes style and sophistication. We think that the Sheldon Shirt makes the perfect gift for any young man planning on Christmas parties or New Year’s Celebrations!

VTech Innotab 2 from Cuthberts Toys!
You can’t have failed to have heard about VTech - known for their electronic learning toys. This year has seen the re-launch of their popular Innotab, the new and improved Innotab 2. Available in either pink or blue, it’s chunky appearance gives you faith that when your little one drops it (which they inevitably will), it will live to see another day! It has a rotating camera for the budding David Bailey out there plus a video recorder. Vtech have launched new games and apps suitable for the Innotab 2, as well as a range of e-books. We think this gift is perfect for any tech-loving little one!

Chatsworth Dolls Pram from Silver Cross!
This has got to be every girl’s dream (whether you have space for it at your house is a different matter). It is absolutely beautiful - the usual quality you would expect from a coach-built pram from Silver Cross. Each one is hand made in the UK, just like the ‘real thing’. It is available in Poppy (pictured), Daisy (light pink) and Rose (pictured). It arrives safely yet beautifully packaged - all you need to do is attach the wheels and handles and off your little Princess goes. We recommend the Chatsworth as a gift to pass down the generations - a real family heirloom for the children.
RRP £320 available from www.silvercross.co.uk
Well, that’s our round-up of PT favourites when buying a gift for a young child – each suggestion has been picked for a different reason but we think all of the above are worth considering for different reasons. Apart from the actual products, they are all from companies we know and trust which gives you peace of mind when ordering that special something for that special someone!!
