SnoozeShade is definitely making a name for itself, and not only over here because its products are sold in Africa, Asia, Australia, America, Canada and Europe. With an ever-expanding range of sun and sleep shades for pushchairs, car seats and travel cots, if you haven't heard of SnoozeShade, now is a good chance to see what it is all about.

I am reviewing the classic, which is black with a green trim, however you can also purchase a limited edition SnoozeShade Original with either powder pink or latte trim for the same price.

The SnoozeShade Original is a very versatile shade that can be fitted on all single pushchairs, prams and strollers. Not only can this cleverly-designed shade be used to help your baby switch off from the outside world, allowing them to sleep while you are on-the-go, it can also be used to protect your baby from insects and the elements, such as sun, wind, chill and light rain. 

SnoozeShade Original Material

I think one of the main features of SnoozeShade Original is the material - it is made from a breathable black mesh fabric.  The fabric is soft and extremely stretchy, making it very durable. Believe me I have tried pulling it every which way and you would be hard pressed to rip it, this also means it fits over the larger sized pushchairs as well. The material being breathable means your little one stays well-ventilated whilst the SnoozeShade is fitted, this I find great, especially in the heat of summer - it's one less thing for a parent to worry about. And if that wasn't enough it also protects from the sun, blocking more than 98.5% of UV rays (UPF50+). This is one item that I will definitely be taking on holiday with me!!

SnoozeShade Original - The Fit

As mentioned, SnoozeShade Original can be used in a multitude of different ways. You can use it as an aid to help babies sleep when you are out and about by covering the whole seat unit on your pushchair. You can also use it to extend the hood on your pushchair to create more shade from the sun. You can even use it to cover their legs to protect them from the elements. SnoozeShade Original can be used not only on your pushchairs but on your car seats (as part of a travel system) and on carry cots as well. 

There are three sets of stretchy Velcro straps which you use to fit the SnoozeShade. When attaching them around the frame you place the straps on top of each other, forming a kind of loop. Or if you are doing the straps up around or underneath the pushchair, you take one strap from either side of the SnoozeShade and then place them on top of each other.

I have to admit when I first went to fit the SnoozeShade on my Mutsy Evo I struggled slightly as I couldn't quite work out where to do up the straps, every which way I tried,  there were always gaps at the sides. I think maybe because I had the pushchair in parent facing mode. However, I noticed on the instructions that they have a You Tube channel to help give you tips on fitting SnoozeShade on to different pushchairs. Once I had taken a look, it made fitting it really simple. Now I don't even need instructions to fit it!! 

Once it is fitted, it is very secure, the Velcro is extremely 'sticky'. So if you decide to use it as a shade from the sun, you don't need to worry about the wind blowing it off like you would a parasol.

Taking it off is even easier. All you have to do is undo the straps and pull it off. The mesh bag that comes with it is handy because the SnoozeShade folds up nice and small inside it, making it ideal just to pop in your handbag or change bag. This is another reason why I think it is a fantastic accessory for holidays because it takes up next to no space in your luggage.

This is a handy little feature on SnoozeShade Original, it allows you to check on your little one when the SnoozeShade is fitted in sleep mode, without disturbing them. They didn't 'have' to include this, but we are glad that they did! If you are anything like me, you will find yourself doing this quite often, so the zip proves invaluable and means your baby is left undisturbed. The zip has a green tag hanging off it, matching the Velcro straps, making it clearly visible and easy to use, pulling up or down to open and close.

I have fallen in love with SnoozeShade Original. It has definitely come in handy in trying to keep a routine for my little one, as normally she has the tendency to stay awake, chat and be nosey. With the SnoozeShade on it allows her to fall asleep without any distractions and she actually naps longer when we are out and about. It looks modern with its mesh black material and because of its versatility any parent would be able to purchase one, regardless of what pushchair they have. I struggle to find negative things to say about it, my only real problem was fitting it the first time. Maybe, as well as their You Tube channel, they could add some pictures in their instruction manual to demonstrate fitting as not everyone has easy access to a computer.

SnoozeShade Original is great value for money as it is an accessory that can be used all year round, it is one of those things that you wish you had found sooner!!!
