My name is Erin Wilkie and I am a proud mum to 2 beautiful daughters- Rowan Louise, aged 3 and our new edition Maisie Belle, 9 weeks. I've been married to my wonderful husband Gavin for nearly 5 years. When I'm not on maternity leave I am a solicitor. We try to be a very active family and given we live in Scotland we don't let the weather deter us! One of our favourite family days out is to the beach- more often than not this is in the wind and rain!

First Impressions
The dream pod arrived at the prefect time.Clocks have gone back and the nights are lighter which Maisie has taken as a cue as that she doesn't need to sleep. I was very impressed when I read the packet and took it out for an initial inspection. I've previously purchased a rival product which I wasn't impressed with but the sleep-pod was well made and looks like it can be used on a wide range of products. I'm looking forward to trying it on the prams and pushchairs that my mum and I have got arriving in the coming weeks.***************************
The website has some fantastic videos to show how to fit the Sleep Pod. We have an Apple Icandy and I found it easy to fit after watching the video.
April the 18th 2013SleepPod on our Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat
The minute I put Maisie into the SleepPod she falls asleep- she slept for an hour which is unheard of!!
Fits easily and nearly. Easy access to peak on your baby is a great feature.
So I decided to put the SleepPod on our car seat. Although there is no
video on the website I fitted it the same way I did to the pram. As our
Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat has a black hood I think it looks good.
Previous sun shade products have looked untidy on my pram but SleepPod
looks neat and tidy. Every time I use it with Maisie she goes straight
to sleep- it's just a brilliant product!

The SleepPod has had quite a bit of use this week! No more wrestling
with parasols which have to be frequently adjusted to shade the
baby-which always frustrated me!
My husband was impressed with the SleepPod when we took the girls to the
park. He fitted it himself without any help from me. It got very windy
and SleepPod again didn't disappoint! It kept Maisie protected and she
slept while the rest of us battled through the wind.
Maisie on the train with SleepPod- allowed my nosy baby to sleep undisturbed. The start of our windy walk. The wind didn't disturb the SleepPod and Maisie slept protected and unaware. Wish I had been in there as it was so cold!
May the 2nd 2013
The good weather finally arrived. We took Maisie out in my mum's Silver
Cross pram which she bought when she was having me 31 years ago. Good weather in the garden
The pram always attracts attention but those people who stopped to talk
all asked about the Sleep Pod. This type of pram probably wasn't in the
mind of the company when they brought out this product but it fits.
Admittedly not as well as it did on more modern prams but Maisie was
protected unlike me who got burnt.

This week we've found another use for the SleepPod. Maisie has been
waking in the small hours and we think this is due to the light
mornings. Blackout curtains are a hassle and we've found the room heats
up with the three of us in there. So we decided to use the SleepPod on
the Moses basket.
Maisie hasn't been waking up until after 6am which is a big improvement!
Also I can now get back to reading books in bed with my lamp on without
disturbing Maisie. Happy baby and happy mummy :) Again the SleepPod
comes to the rescue!

Another of the many things I like about the SleepPod is the material it is made from. Not only does it keep the baby cool in the pram/carseat/buggy it is also very robust. So far I've only needed to wipe it with a baby wipe as stains don't seem to adhere to it. After constant use for a few weeks it still looks as good as new.
I tried to fit the SleepPod on a Quinny Buzz for a friend who wanted to see if it would fit for their holiday to Turkey. She was impressed with the features and that it was a fab alternative to a parasol. However it seemed to be slightly short. This is the first pushchair Ive found that it doesn't fit.
The SleepPod can be used in the following modes-
1. Open- both the uv and the blackout blind packed away- baby is still sheltered by the sides of the pod
2. Half blind- can be used with or without the uv blind but this involves using only half of the blackout blind
3.View - just the uv blind in use
4. Snooze- both the uv blind and the block out blind in use

We've had relatives visiting so we've been out and about with the SleepPod. It takes away all the concern about making sure Maisie gets enough sleep and that she is protected from the sun- and we've seen plenty of that this week. Maisie seems to be going through an unsettled period due to reflux and her teeth getting ready to emerge. However every time we use the SleepPod Maisie sleeps and often for longer than she would if she were in her Moses basket. We still see parents struggling with unwieldy parasols and then looking over longingly as we stroll past stress free with the SleepPod.
At Edinburgh Castle
In open mode while visiting Elie Beach. My niece loved the fact that she could still see and talk to Maisie. Open mode also protected from the strong sun that day.

Another week another pushchair to try the SleepPod on.
We've been on holiday and we took our Baby Jogger City Mini as it was
easier to pack. Although the Baby Jogger has a large hood, due to Maisie
being so small her eye line is still below the hood. This means she can
still catch some rays and she is easily distracted from sleep by all
that is going on around her. It was her first time in a pushchair and
she loved it. Had it not been for the SleepPod I don't think her
curiosity would have let her sleep!
I think the SleepPod looks very stylish on the Baby Jogger- almost like it was designed for it!

We took it to the beach and were so glad we did! It got very windy but
Maisie was safely cocooned inside- while the rest of us got our fleece
jackets on! My husband also told me for a second time how great he
thought the SleepPod was and how useful it had been. High praise indeed.

Another week another pram- this week we tried our Sleep Pod on our iCandy Apple with the pushchair seat attached. It is still too big for Maisie but here are the results.

I like that due to the elastic on the bottom of the SleepPod it fits whether the footrest is in the upright position or down for an older child. This means that I don't have to fold or tuck it in to hide untidy extra bits of fabric to make it fit. Maisie love the sleepPod and so does her mummy. It's versatile, portable and covers a multitude of prams and pushchairs.
Another week and another pram to try the SleepPod on. Lots of parents
as their child gets older move onto an umbrella pushchair such as
McLaren.
I have a Lulu Guinness McLaren which I believe is the Quest model. We use it as our spare and again the SleepPod fits perfectly.
If using the pushchair with a smaller child the SleepPod fits perfectly
around the end of the seat. However as they are often used with older
children who can use the foot rest, the SleepPod can also accommodate
this.
This is a product I don't think I realised how much use I could get from
it. As you will see from my past reviews I've used it on a variety of
prams and pushchairs (and the moses basket!) and each time it hasn't
disappointed.
Everytime I leave the house its in my pushchair basket or my changing
bag. For sun and wind protection or just to get the baby to sleep, this
is a product I'm delighted to have found and which I've happily told all
my friends ( and anyone else who will listen!) about.
This truly is a need to have product, from car seats to pushchairs to mosses baskets, it is invaluable. It is always in the basket of our pram and goes with us wherever we go. I've waxed lyrical about this product to lots of friends and am happy to do so. Having a baby who isn't very good at napping this product has been a godsend and allows her to be shielded from distraction and sleep. I think this will be one of the products I go to when thinking of a new baby gift for friends because I believe its one of the got to have baby items.
3 Pro’s and 3 Con’s
Pros - It fits so many baby products - as shown in my reviews. It's compact and does not take up room. As well as a sleep and sunshade it's excellent for keeping baby sheltered from the wind.
Cons - I'm struggling to find any. I really love this product. I've thought long and hard and I cannot think of any!
Star Rating out of 5 - without a doubt five out of five.
