Is it just me? Or does anyone else get the urge to hook up a skateboard or pop on some rollerskates so that you can glide along behind your pushchair. (Don’t worry I’ve never tried it) Well, a safer and more practical alternative has been created by Taga; a ride-on pushchair that pedalled like a bike!
What’s fantastic about the Taga is that it folds down into a tidy three wheeler pushchair when you are walking round the shops, then in 20 seconds you can convert it into a bike to get home. Not only that, it can take a Maxi-Cosi car seat, or be converted to take two children up front.
We’ve all seen the trailers that dedicated parents forcefully pedal around town or hire when on holiday in Centre Parcs; these have a limited age range and I would always feel a little anxious and detached about having my toddlers hang off the back of my bike. The Taga’s fixed seat has them up front and central where you can see them.
Folding a bike might seem like a messy affair when you take into consideration all the workings, but the internal gears and covered chain leave you smudge free. To fold; the seat is removed, possible even if the child is still seated because the chair unit has a prop. The crossbar and the back wheel then fold over the double wheeled front axle to become a three wheeled chassis. The chair then mounts back onto the frame and voila...a pushchair.
It can be accessorised like any ordinary pushchair, it has a sun canopy, side bags and an underseat basket plus a front protecting bumper bar. This long lasting piece of green engineering can be used as a bicycle/trolley when the children have grown too old plus what better way to lose your baby bulges! On your bike!
